Compare your options

Which denture is right for me?

The right denture depends on how many natural teeth you have, the health of your gums and jaw, your budget and how much stability you want. This overview shows how the main options compare. Your denturist will confirm what suits you at a free consultation.

OptionBest forHow it stays in placeTypical time to complete
Complete (full) denturesReplacing all teeth on the upper or lower jawSuction and fit against the gumsSeveral appointments over a few weeks
Partial denturesReplacing some teeth while keeping healthy natural teethClasps or a framework around remaining teethSeveral appointments over a few weeks
Flexible denturesA lightweight partial without metal claspsFlexible gum-coloured material that grips natural teethSeveral appointments over a few weeks

Ongoing denture care

Dentures need care after they are delivered. Relines refit the surface that sits on your gums, rebases replace the whole pink base, repairs fix cracks, breaks and missing teeth, and professional cleaning removes stubborn staining and buildup. Future Smiles patients receive one complimentary denture cleaning each year.

Frequently asked questions

Denture services questions, answered.

What denture services does Future Smiles offer in Calgary?

Future Smiles offers complete, partial, flexible, immediate and implant-supported dentures, plus relines, rebases, adjustments, same-day repairs where possible and professional denture cleaning. The same services are available at our Coral Springs NE and Macleod Trail SW clinics.

Are dentures made in your own lab?

Yes. Future Smiles fabricates dentures in our own in-house laboratory in Calgary. That gives our team hands-on control over fit, function, appearance, adjustments and turnaround, rather than sending your denture to an outside lab.

How long do dentures usually last?

Many dentures last several years with good care, but your gums and jawbone change over time. Most patients need periodic adjustments and relines to keep a good fit, and a rebase or replacement when the base or teeth become worn. Regular check-ups help you plan ahead.

What happens at a free denture consultation?

You explain what is bothering you and what you want to improve. The denturist examines your mouth and any current denture, explains suitable options and discusses cost, coverage and timing. Eligible cases also include a try-in appointment before your denture is finished.

Do I need a referral to see a denturist in Calgary?

No. You can contact Future Smiles directly to book a free consultation at our Coral Springs (NE) or Macleod Trail (SW) clinic. If your situation needs coordination with your dentist or another oral health provider, our team will discuss that with you.

Does insurance or CDCP cover this service?

Future Smiles accepts the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), NIHB, AISH and major dental insurance plans, with direct billing where available. Coverage, eligibility and co-payments vary by plan, so our team reviews your expected patient portion with you before treatment begins. Medicard financing is also available for eligible treatment.
